There are so many great books for this age group but I have picked some of my favorites to share with you. At this age, preschoolers don’t have a very long attention span. This means that shorter books with pictures tend to be best. Here are some of my recommendations for the best books for 2-4-year-olds.

Besides Amazon, one of my favorite places to buy books is BetterWorldBooks. They have used and new books at great prices! Shipping is always free and they also give money back to libraries. It’s a win-win for everyone! My favorite part is the cute email you get once you place an order. Your books tell you how excited they are to come live with you soon.
2-year-old books
The above books are all books that I personally own and HIGHLY recommend. They are all board books so your little one won’t rip any pages. These books are all fairly short with good graphics. The Good Night series and the Little Blue Truck series are my favorites. There are so many Good Night books with some being location-specific, some are people specific and others are themed.

3-year-old books
Guess what? I also own each of the above-recommended books and LOVE them! My favorites are the Little Critter books. There are many of these with a lot of different life topics. Books for having a new baby, moving, going to the dentist, etc. More recently, they came out with a few that deal with life morals like being thankful.
The Give a mouse a Cookie series also has some fun other books. Here are a few.
4-year-old books
At 4-years-old, attention spans get a little longer and there is more understanding. Imaginations are really developing too! Here are my top picks for this age.
Some of these books are from my childhood that my kids now love reading like the Berenstein Bears series. They have great life lessons in them but are still fun to read and often silly.
Well, these are my recommendations for the best books for 2-4-year-olds. What are your favorite kid books for these age groups? I would love to get some recommendations for my kids!

Books for touching and Finding
Kids love to be read to but they also love to get to do something with a book. Whether it is touching different textures, sliding things up and down or finding things, it’s more fun to be engaged. These are great book options to keep your preschooler engaged.
Potty training books for Preschoolers
Learning to use the potty is always more fun with books! Most kids go through potty training between 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 years old. This is a prime time for using books to learn. Here are some outstanding books to help your child stay focused on potty training.

Dear zoo is one of my favourite!
I just shared a few of our favorite books on my blog. Brown Bear is definitely at the top!
I loved Dear Zoo when I was a kid! Sadly never got around to getting it for mine, & they’re too old now 🙁
My daughter loves The Hungry Caterpillar board book as well as Giraffe’s Can’t Dance. She is 3. Duck and Goose has some great board books as well.
I have been thinking about the Giraffe’s Can’t Dance book for months. I think I will finally get it! Thanks for the recommendation!
