Finding good books to read can often be a struggle. Everyone has different interests and preferences. These are some of the best books for young Christian women to read. Even non-Christians will enjoy reading these as well. They would most be recommended for ages 18-45. I have read a lot of Christian fiction over the years and these are the ones that spoke to me the most and I continue to remember and enjoy.

In a world filled with doubt, suffering, bullying, and lots of negativity, I have found that entering into the world of Christian Fiction can be good for the soul. By letting your mind enter into a world filled with promise and hope, you can remember the good things. These book recommendations are not filled with hate but instead filled with reminders of God’s promises. My hope is that you will find these books as uplifting as I have.
Besides Amazon, one of my favorite places to buy books is BetterWorldBooks. They have used and new books at great prices! Shipping is always free and they also give money back to libraries.
Christy Miller Series
The Christy Miller Series by Robin Jones Gunn is one that has lasted me over 15 years. I started reading her books in High School and she continued with her series through “The Baby Years”. The series follows the main character, Christy, through her teenage angst and awkwardness. This is an excellent series to start as a teen and continue with. Even if you are already well past your teens you could either start from the beginning or jump in at a stage closer to your own. You could also jump into the Katie Weldon series and the Sierra Jensen series. They are close friends of Christy’s and have awesome stories of their own!
The McChord Sisters Series
Christine Lynxwiler is an author that I was introduced to from a different book but I loved her style. I started looking for other books she wrote and I found this series. One thing I love about the series is that each book focuses on a different main character but still interacts with the rest of the characters. The story continues but you get to see the other main characters continue through a different perspective. I always get so sad when I finish a book because I feel like I am having to say good-bye to a new friend. That is how I know it was a good book. These books would be most recommended for ages 20-40.
The Sisterchicks Series
This is another outstanding series from Robin Jones Gunn. These are each novels based on the main character that takes a trip with a close friend. They are all about having close girlfriends, going on adventures and experiencing life while learning to trust God. With each one, I felt like I got to experience another country and also be with a good friend. These are mostly based on women 40+ but they are still very much enjoyable for younger ages. These were some of my favorite books to read while pumping at work during my breastfeeding years.

The Glenbrooke Series
Robin Jones Gunn comes through again with The Glenbrooke Series. Each of these is about a different character but you might still run into some familiar ones as well if you have read her other books. I feel like I know the adorable town of Glenbrooke up in Oregon. It is a quaint town with tree-lined streets and older Victorian houses. It is definitely a town I would love to visit or even live in. The cinnamon rolls at the small cafe downtown sound amazing! These books would be great for ages 18-40.
Non-Series Books
Here are some additional books that are not part of a larger series that are still outstanding. I have read books by a multitude of authors and found that I am drawn to some more than others. When I read, I like books that have a little suspense but not ones that stress me out. Reading books is my escape from reality even just for a little while. With 3 boys running around me and a full-time job, I can often only sneak in a few pages at a time these days. I look for books that bring me joy, peace, hope and a brighter outlook on life.
